Students from the University of Virginia, Virginia Tech, and William & Mary teamed up to organize this virtual event including guided meditations and other secular contemplative practices and a live Q&A with experts representing the three universities.
Whether you are a beginner or experienced meditation practitioner, please join this intercollegiate community in a celebration of togetherness and resilience in challenging times.

MEDITATION FACILITATORS
UVA:
Benita Mayo Contemplative Sciences Center Contemplative Instructor and UVA alumn
Benita Mayo completed her Yoga Teacher training in 2016 and has additional certifications in Trauma Informed Yoga and Yoga for All. Benita uses her expereince as both a larger-bodied yoga student and teacher to create a welcoming and inclusive environment. She is a fine art photograppher and native Virginian who holds an undergraduate degree in Rhetoric & Communications from the University of Virginia.
Virginia Tech:
Dr. Matthew Komelski, Advanced Instructor in the Department of Human Development and Family Sciences.
Dr. Matthew F. Komelski teaches courses in mind-body health, developmental science and human services. His research interests include the use of mindfulness-based practices to improve health and quality of life across the lifespan. Dr. Komelski's work has been published in peer-reviewed journals and he has presented his work at conferences and universities internationally, including Suomi (Finland), Seoul (South Korea), and Jinan (China).
William & Mary:
Dr. Warren Buck III, Special Adviser for Equity in the 21st Century and Adjunct Professor of Physics
Dr. Warren W. Buck III is currently a Special Adviser for Equity in the 21st Century and an Adjunct Professor of Physics. Warren Buck began his experience at W&M during the civil rights era where he earned his first of three degrees. Dr. Buck leads daily virtual meditation sessions for the William & Mary community through the Center for Mindfulness and Authentic Excellence.
Martha Rouleau, Adjunct Lecturer
Martha Rouleau is a dedicated mindfulness mediation practitioner and a passionate about teaching mindfulness meditation to all populations. Martha has trained with international meditation teachers for over 17 years. Her status as a Qualified Mindfulness-Based Meditation teacher and 200 hour certified yoga teacher are the roots of her dedication to bring compassionate support through mindfulness skill development. She serves as an Adjunct Lecturer at William & Mary teaching Mindfulness Meditation supporting young adults and university staff with finding clarity, focus, presence, and ease in their lives.
