Measurement of Cardio-Respiratory Dynamics During Meditation
Led by Tyvin A. Rich, Professor Emeritus, Department of Radiation Oncology; this program investigates the effects and potential benefits of Reflective Exercise - a westernized form of Qi Gong meditative practice - in the heart, respiratory, and immune function of athletes. It collaborates with the U.Va. School of Nursing and the U.Va. Varsity Swim Team, and runs from fall, 2013 through summer, 2014. Results will be measured by using the CareTaker monitor to record athletes’ heart rate variability
