In this course we will examine the following paradigms and models: psychotherapeutic; biopsychosocial; behavioral; stress and coping; health promotion; rehabilitation; self-help theories; and psychiatric mental health nursing theoretical frameworks. This course also includes an exploration of selected diagnoses with respect to theoretical perspectives.

Prerequisite: Graduate standing or instructor permission.

Note: To be eligible to take GNUR 6252 Theories and Therapies, the student:
  1. Must have a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing
  2. Have been accepted into the graduate program for Psychiatric Mental Nurse Practitioners.
